Funeral of Şehzade Mustafa[kaynağı değiştir]

This is not funeral of Şehzade Mustafa according to a history TV programme. Historians in the programme said that the miniature is not showing the funeral of Şehzade Mustafa, it's showing the funeral of Şehzade Mustafa's son, Mehmed. I will move the file on Commons, if you don't have anything to say.--RapsarEfendim? 22:36, 22 Şubat 2014 (UTC)

Accepting edits[kaynağı değiştir]

Hi. Sorry for speaking English again but I really need help. I don't know how edits become accepted on this wiki. I have done some changes in Muhteşem Yüzyıl bölümleri listesi and now they don't become accepted. Can you accept them, plaese? Keivan.f (mesaj) 13:28, 1 Nisan 2014 (UTC)

Hi. I accepted them. And there is nothing to be sorry for speaking English :)--RapsarEfendim? 14:20, 1 Nisan 2014 (UTC)
In English wiki all of my edits become accepted automatically. But it's a question for me that why in here sometimes they become accepted automatically but sometimes not? Keivan.f (mesaj) 20:54, 1 Nisan 2014 (UTC)
Turkish Wikipedia has flagged revisions system. If you become a patrol (devriye), you can accept or reject any other users' edits. If you become a member of the "white list" (beyaz liste), your edits become accepted automatically; but you can't accept or reject any other user's edits. You are a member of the second user group. If you make an edit on an unaccepted revision of an article, your edits become unaccepted too. It is hard to explain in English, I hope you will understand :)--RapsarEfendim? 21:15, 1 Nisan 2014 (UTC)

Değişiklik[kaynağı değiştir]

Merhaba, bu değişikliğinizin sebebi nedir? Bilgi yanlış mı?--İyi Vikiler.Ayrıntılı Bilgi#ileti 12:31, 26 Temmuz 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, but I can't speak Turkish too much, I just understand it. Can you speak English? If you can't, I can ask a user to help us. Keivan.f (mesaj)
I asked the reason for this change--İyi Vikiler.Ayrıntılı Bilgi#ileti 13:05, 26 Temmuz 2014 (UTC)
I understood what you said. I and some English wiki users had a discussion to find out that if Mahidevran was the mother of Ahmed or Fatma. Well at last we suggested that Fatma can be the daughter of Fülane and also there's no reliable source to show that Ahmed was Mahdevran's son. And about Nurbanu, well, beside Murad, Esmehan and Fatma she was the mother of Şah Sultan too. Keivan.f (mesaj)
"Bilgi yanlış mı?" on the first message means "Is information wrong?". So, you say it is not definite and there is no rel. source ok. No problem. But it would be better that writing a summary for change. Have nice day.--İyi Vikiler.Ayrıntılı Bilgi#ileti 13:26, 26 Temmuz 2014 (UTC)

Şehzade Ahmed?[kaynağı değiştir]

Hi. Why did you revert my edit in Suleiman and Mahidevran's article? Well, I'm sure that Mahidevran had no daughter named Fatma and also hadn't a son named Ahmed. There's no reliable source to show this. I and some English wiki users had a discussion and couldn't find even a source to show that Mahidevran had two other children named Fatma and Ahmed. Please don't revert my edits again.Keivan.f (mesaj) 16:29, 28 Temmuz 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Sources that I used in these artice says that they have a son named Ahmed. I will check these sources again tonight or tommorrow to be sure.--RapsarEfendim? 08:45, 31 Temmuz 2014 (UTC)
Aha, and your source is Haberturk? Well, this is the source that is used in Mahidevran's article. That's not a reliable source and it's completely clear that this site mentioned the name of Ahmed after that some users added the name of Ahmed here. Now what do you have to say? If you have a reliable source so please tell me and I can use it on their articles in English wiki.Keivan.f (mesaj) 13:36, 2 Ağustos 2014 (UTC)
My source is not Habertürk, it's Necdet Sakaoğlu. I know that Habertürk is not a reliable source. Like I said before, I'll check the source.--RapsarEfendim? 11:12, 3 Ağustos 2014 (UTC)

Gevherhan Sultan[kaynağı değiştir]

Why did you undo my edit on Gevherhan Sultan? Why do we need source for this article to show that she was the daughter of Selimiye Sultan? I don't see such problems in the articles of Esmehan Sultan or Fatma Sultan whose mother was Nurbanu Sultan. Why don't we need sources for these articles to show that their mother was Nurbanu? Keivan.f (mesaj) 12:12, 10 Ekim 2014 (UTC)

Beacuse we must add reliable sources to make a reliable encyclopedia.--RapsarEfendim? 12:29, 10 Ekim 2014 (UTC)
Yes, of course. But there's a template on the top of this article that mentions it needs additional citations for verification. No need to add Şablon:Kaynak belirt three times. Keivan.f (mesaj) 12:42, 10 Ekim 2014 (UTC)
I agree. We can remove the main template, but other three templates should stay.--RapsarEfendim? 12:47, 10 Ekim 2014 (UTC)
What about the articles of Şah Sultan (II. Selim'in kızı), Fatma Sultan and even Esmehan Sultan? They need reliable sources too. I think like these articles it's better to have the main template and remove the small ones. Keivan.f (mesaj) 12:51, 10 Ekim 2014 (UTC)
"Kaynaksız" means "the article has no source", "kaynak belirtilmeli" means "we need a source for this information". The second template is more spesific, and if we use this template, users can see which information needs source(s).--RapsarEfendim? 12:54, 10 Ekim 2014 (UTC)

@Yeksancaner I can't speak Turkish fluently, so I answer you in English. Here's my edit. I just added the flag of Turkey. An IP user added those rubbish information before me as you can see it here and unfortunately I didn't recognize it. So please check the page's history before accusing anyone. Get your facts straight. Keivan.f (mesaj) 07:06, 15 Mayıs 2015 (UTC)

Mahidevran[kaynağı değiştir]

Hi. Why did you revert my edit? Please take a look at this source which has been used in Mahidevran's article. It clearly says that Suleiman had another daughter except Mihrimah named Raziye, but it does not mention her mother's name. So it can't prove that she was Suleiman's daughter by Mahidevran. Please accept my apologize for commenting on your page in English. My Turkish isn't that much good. Keivan.f (mesaj) 13:30, 13 Ekim 2015 (UTC)

Oh and another thing. Please check Nurbanu Sultan. There are 16 pending changes that need to be reviewed. Keivan.f (mesaj) 14:07, 13 Ekim 2015 (UTC)
Hi. I'm totally lost in this issue, sorry. An user changes information without adding any source, and another user comes and add an irrelevant source, and then another user changes the information again etc. So it's really hard to track these articles. I checked the source that you mentioned, my mistake. Nurbanu Sultan article has the same situation either, I tried to do my best.--RapsarEfendim? 14:33, 13 Ekim 2015 (UTC)

Safiye & Kösem[kaynağı değiştir]

Hello. Actually I think I have found new problems in these two pages. First of all, Safiye's death date is unclear. In English Wikipedia it's written that she died in November 1605 (it also seems to have a source), but here in Turkish Wikipedia her death date is November 1619. Well, there's a huge difference between these years and I don't know which one is correct. As you have better knowledge and better access to different sources, I think you can find a reliable source which provides her exact year of death. The other problem is about Kösem and her children. International encyclopaedia of Islamic dynasties by Nagendra Kr Singh which is used in English Wikipedia as a source lists Kösem's children as Murad, Süleyman, Ibrahim, Kasim, Ayşe, Fatma and Gevherhan. Now some users and IPs have added new names including Hanzade, Burnaz Atike and Mehmet. Actually The Imperial Harem: Women and Sovereignty in the Ottoman Empire by Leslie P. Peirce lists Hanzade as Kösem's daughter in page 365. But when I searched Atike Sultan in Goole books I just saw that she is listed as Ahmed I's daughter. None of those books refer to her mother's name. There are however some other books in Google results showing another Atike Sultan as Turhan Hatice Sultan's daughter. As they're Turkish I can't understand them completely. Is it possible for you to take a look at them? Besides, I couldn't find any information about Kösem's possible son Mehmet, whose name is listed by IPs or unconfirmed users. Maybe it's mistaken by one of Mahfiruz Hatice Sultan's son whose name was also Mehmet. Keivan.f (mesaj) 10:07, 6 Kasım 2015 (UTC)

Hi. To be honest, I am focused on another subject which is completely unrelated with Ottoma history :) And I really don't have much information about these issues, I only expanded I. Süleyman and Mahidevran Sultan articles, that's all. It seems like you are interested in these issues and you are trying to build neutral content with reliable sources. You can contribute however you want, and it is really better to delete unreferenced content. After I complete the article that I'm working on, I'll try to expand these articles too with reliable sources that I can access.--RapsarEfendim? 10:49, 6 Kasım 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for your response. I'm also busy with some new articles in English Wikipedia but I also want to expand Ottoman related articles in English and Turkish Wikipedia equally. However my major problems in expanding these articles are the pending changes that I can't revert. That's why I always have to ask you or the others to revert them for me. Anyway I don't have enough time currently as I have some major works to do in my own life. But I'll be back some months later and after you finished your current projects, with your help and advise I think I can make those articles' material better and more trustworthy. Until then, I wish you best luck and happiness in everything you do. Keivan.f (mesaj) 11:00, 6 Kasım 2015 (UTC)
You can just send a message me or any other patroller that is interested about these kind of articles to revert vandalisms :) I would love to be helpful against vandalism. After expanding an "important" article (I personally use that term for geography, history, science articles), I try to expand a cinema, sport or video game related article just to clear my mind :) I just recently expanded 2003 İstanbul saldırıları, so now, I'm focused on a movie article. After that, I. Süleyman can be my next project. It's almost finished, but it needs a revision and expansion in some sections. I would be happy to have your help :) And if you need any translation of a Turkish source, you can just ask me. Have a nice day.--RapsarEfendim? 11:09, 6 Kasım 2015 (UTC)

Translation[kaynağı değiştir]

Hello Rapsar. I have been recently expanding Beren Saat's article in English Wikipedia. I have to confess that I have been using the Turkish version as a source of inspiration and have translated some parts of it to English. But my main problem is philanthropy (hayırseverlik) section. It's too difficult for me translate it, besides it's an important section that shows her charitable efforts. Unfortunately there aren't enough English language sources about her charity works so translating this section is the only way. I will translate some parts of it and save it in my sandbox. If you can, please take a look at it later to see if the paragraphs are well translated and also contain all the information mentioned in the original Turkish section. Thanks a lot. Keivan.f (mesaj) 09:55, 23 Kasım 2015 (UTC)

Hi. OK, you start working on it and I will try to help it after you complete your work :)--RapsarEfendim? 10:00, 23 Kasım 2015 (UTC)
Saat has participated in many social projects. In 2011, she became the face of deodorant brand Rexona and donated all Şablon:Turkish lira100.000 that she had earned to Mor Çatı, a women's shelter foundation. In 2012, she designed some t-shirts for Elle magazine that she appeared on cover of it and most of the money that was earned from selling the t-shirts in NetWork stores was donated to a charity, Nar Taneleri Projesi ("Pomegranate Seeds Project"), educating young orphan girls aged between 18 and 24. In December of the same year, she appeared on a calendar that was made and designed by Trendus.com, with a girl with leukemia with Snow White costume. Money that earned by selling of these calendars was donated to "Health and Education Foundation for Children with Leukemia". Saat, later went in front of the camera for a video supported a project organized by European Union and Afghanistan's Ministary of Health for women's healthy childbirth in Afghanistan.
In September 2014, Saat vocalized in "Baba Beni Okula Gönder" (Daddy Send Me to School) campaign's advertising film directed by Ozan Açıktan. In the "Breast Cancer Awareness Month" in October 2014, Saat appeared in Abdi İpekçi Arena and performed a symbolic jump ball with a pink ball. In the same month, Saat along with many other celebrities participated in "Gençliğe Hitabe"'s program for addressing young people with hearing disabilities using sign language. Saat was also one of the first people who reacted to the murder of Özgecan Aslan by publishing messages in her social media accounts. The messages contained information about her own experiences of challenges and difficulties of women in Turkey.
I have also translated the "Early years" section:
She was born on 26 February 1984 in Ankara, to Ayla Saat (née Dikmen) and Hüseyin Avni Saat, both graduate of sports academy. She has a brother, Cem Saat. Raised in Ankara, she primarily studied at TED Ankara College Foundation Private High School and briefly attended Başkent University's Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences before pursuing a career in acting. With the support of her college friends, she applied to an acting competition TV series called Türkiye'nin Yıldızları in which she became the first runner-up. After that, she appeared on TV commercial series of Tofita, that directed by Sinan Çetin. She was discovered by the renowned director Tomris Giritlioğlu and debuted in her first series Aşkımızda Ölüm Var. Saat received her BA degree in Management.

I've also translated some parts of the "Early years" section. I'll be glad if you take a look at them as well. Keivan.f (mesaj) 16:40, 23 Kasım 2015 (UTC)
I tried my best, hopefully I didn't do anything wrong :)--RapsarEfendim? 17:15, 23 Kasım 2015 (UTC)

Nur Fettahoğlu[kaynağı değiştir]

Hi Rapsar. I'm here to ask your opinion on a biographical matter. Actually in Nur Fettahoğlu's article, it's claimed by a source (Sabah magazine) that Fettahoğlu and her second husband divorced in 2015. I searched for other sources on internet as well. Most of them including CNN Turk support this theory, but Selma Ergeç's wedding photo taken in September 2015 shows a pregnant Fettahoğlu with a man who is identical to her divorced husband holding her back. Now I don't know whether to trust my eyes or the news. As here is an encyclopedia, should we trust the news and use them as our sources and consider them as a divorced couple? Keivan.f (mesaj) 17:07, 2 Aralık 2015 (UTC)

Hi. This source says that they changed their mind, got together again and didn't divorce :)--RapsarEfendim? 20:01, 2 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
Is it a reliable source? I'm not that much familiar with Turkish newspapers so I don't know whether this one can be trusted or not. Anyway, the source says that they divorced and married again or didn't divorce at all?? Keivan.f (mesaj) 06:59, 3 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
The source said they got back together, didn't get divorced and also attended Ergeç's wedding as a couple :)--RapsarEfendim? 07:40, 3 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
Hi again. Actually I wanted to change the information on Fettahoğlu's article by the source that you had provided above. But when I want to open the site, it doesn't load or I face an error. Maybe it's because of my internet accession. If you can open that link, it's better to change her article yourself as I said above. And also I wanted to thank you for your help and support during Saat's article translation. You may take a look at it on English Wikipedia and later inform me about the possible mistakes. Regards. :) Keivan.f (mesaj) 07:50, 13 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
Hi. This source is better, you can use that one. It says "they announced that they divorced in January, but it's been found out that they didn't actually divorce and got back together again". You're welcome :)--RapsarEfendim? 23:46, 14 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
I've also found an article by "Sabah" newspaper. Is it also reliable? Keivan.f (mesaj) 18:04, 15 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
Yes, one of the newspapers of mainstream media.--RapsarEfendim? 19:11, 16 Aralık 2015 (UTC)

Mahidevran and Hümaşah[kaynağı değiştir]

Hello again. I'm here to ask your advise for two historical matters. The first one is about the death date of Mahidevran Sultan. According to this photo which has been taken from her grave by one of the Wikipedia's users, it's written on her grave that she had died in 1580. But when I was reading The Imperial Harem: Women and Sovereignty in the Ottoman Empire published by Oxford University Press I saw that in the page 56, it's written that she had died in 1581. You can also check it yourself from the link above. Now should we include both of these years as her death year?

The second one is about Hümaşah Sultan granddaughter of Hürrem Sultan through her firstborn son, Şehzade Mehmed. Actually the problem is about her parentage. In her article it's stated that her mother was Esmehan Baharnaz Sultan, niece of I. Süleyman through her sister, Şah Sultan. You can see the source that is provided in favor of this theory here. It seems to be an article written by Hurriyet and unfortunately I think it's not a very reliable source for such historical claim. In the book that I mentioned above there are also some information about Hümaşah Sultan in pages 67 to 69 also referring to her marriage with Ferhad Pasha, but there's no information about her mother. So should we remove Esmehan's name and change the articles? Keivan.f (mesaj) 15:07, 4 Aralık 2015 (UTC)

Hi. There is no source in the book for death date of Mahidevran Sultan, and there is no source in the text near of her grave either :) But, we have a source, a good one in the article. Actually, it was added to the article by me :) As you already know, the empire was using Islamic calender during that era. The source that your book used may be an Ottoman source that was written in that era. So, if the main source says "she died in 988", her death year can be 1580 or 1581. The reason of that difference "may be" this. And I also want you to give an online converter that can be useful in your research, here.
I don't have much information about the issue. Please feel free to make any contribution to the article or to clear unreferenced information from the article :)--RapsarEfendim? 17:42, 4 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
According to that online converter Muharrem 1, 988 was the same with February 17, 1580. Mahidevran's article shows her death date as February 3, 1580, so does it mean that she had died on Zilhicce 16, 987? But that can't be right, because as you said she died in 988. Or maybe the Gregorian (Miladi) date isn't February 3, 1580? Keivan.f (mesaj) 18:06, 4 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
And about the second issue, can you please only check this source which is used in Esmehan Sultan's article supporting the theory of Esmehan being the mother of Hümaşah? I will remove other unsourced information myself. Thanks. Keivan.f (mesaj) 18:30, 4 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
The year that i gave was just an example :) I said, the year that's given in Islamic calendar "may" be the source of this difference. As I said one of our discussions, newspapers can't be a reliable source when it comes to these kind of topics. Feel free to do what you think it's true.--RapsarEfendim? 20:19, 4 Aralık 2015 (UTC)

Help[kaynağı değiştir]

Hi dear Rapsar. As you know I have been translating Beren Saat's article from Turkish to English. I could translate most of the parts but there are a few sentences that I don't understand including:

  • Ekranlara 6 ay aradan sonra İntikam ile geri döndü
  • Ayrıca reklamda senaryo gereği Saat'in film setindeki hallerine, bir ödül töreninde ödül almasına ve Kenan Doğulu ile birlikte evdeki hallerine yer verildi.

Please translate them to English if it's possible for you. Thanks a lot. Keivan.f (mesaj) 15:37, 12 Aralık 2015 (UTC)

Hi.
  • She continued her TV career after six months of absent, with İntikam.
  • The commercial also shows her while she's in a film set, getting an award in an event and personal life in her home with Kenan Doğulu.
I'm not sure about the grammar, but they mean something like these ones.--RapsarEfendim? 16:13, 12 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, don't worry about the grammar. You have helped a lot. I have translated most parts of this article but a few sentences remain:

You're welcome :)
  • In an interview, she stated that "I've learned a lot from what the writers wrote about the mentality of Bihter".
  • The play that Saat has been dressed from a wardrobe that contains items such as clothes, shoes, wigs etc, was the most played play during its era.--RapsarEfendim? 18:49, 12 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
I'm already finished. There are only a few sentences that remain including:

Hatun or Sultan?[kaynağı değiştir]

Hi Rapsar. There has been a discussion on English WP about the royal title and death date of Mahidevran. As once we discussed her date of death previously the other users only want to know what date is actually mentioned in Süleyman, Hurrem ve Diğerleri for Mahidevran's death? Besides her royal title has been a matter of much debate. As in Padişahların Kadınları ve Kızları and The Imperial Harem: Women and Sovereignty in the Ottoman Empire she is called "Hatun" not "Sultan" and as the title "Haseki Sultan" was first created for Hürrem Sultan, the users think that it's really unlikely that she had ever held the title "Sultan". Is there any reliable source available that has mentioned her as "Mahidevran Sultan"? Keivan.f (mesaj) 08:35, 26 Aralık 2015 (UTC)

Hi. I checked the booklet, it doesn't call her "Mahidevran Sultan" nor "Mahidevrah Hatun", not even "Mahidevran" :) The booklet mentions her as "Mahıdevran", and doesn't give any specific date for her birthday, stating that "she's supposed to born in 1500". But, there is a quote from an Ottoman source and accoring to that, she was called as "Mahıdevran Hatun".--RapsarEfendim? 21:46, 26 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
@Rapsar Thanks for your response, but is there any information on her date of death? Which date is exactly mentioned for death? Is it 1580 or 1581? If it is in Hijri, then please say the Hijri date because the other users on English WP want to know her exact date of death. Keivan.f (mesaj) 10:28, 27 Aralık 2015 (UTC)
It gives February 3, 1581 as her date of death. The article in Turkish Wikipedia had "1580", I just changed that. Some kind of vandalism probably.--RapsarEfendim? 20:27, 10 Ocak 2016 (UTC)

Article request[kaynağı değiştir]

Hi Keivan. This time I need your help :) A friend of mine translated an article to Persian. I wanted to create the article in Persian Wikipedia but I am not familiar with the policies and guidelines of the project and also I have no experience before in writing Persian :) So can you help me to create the article? If so, I will e-mail you the translation.--RapsarEfendim? 18:09, 13 Ocak 2016 (UTC)

@Rapsar Hi. Of course I can help. Persian is my mother tongue. Anyway, what's the article about? Has he translated it to Persian completely? Also, I'm already busy with multiple exams as I'm currently studying for my university entrance exam and my activity level has decreased in the past days, so I'll be able to create the article about 9 days later. Keivan.f (mesaj) 18:36, 13 Ocak 2016 (UTC)
Persian translation of Serhat (şarkıcı) article. It's translated into Persian completely, but I'm not sure about the grammar of course.--RapsarEfendim? 18:40, 13 Ocak 2016 (UTC)
@Rapsar Don't worry about the grammar. I'll correct the mistakes. I can find them easily as I'm a native speaker of Persian :) Keivan.f (mesaj) 18:42, 13 Ocak 2016 (UTC)
OK then, I sent you an e-mail :) You can use references that I used in English Wikipedia. Thank you :)--RapsarEfendim? 18:56, 13 Ocak 2016 (UTC)
@Rapsar You're welcome. I have already read the English language version. I'll use the references. Keivan.f (mesaj) 18:58, 13 Ocak 2016 (UTC)

Done![kaynağı değiştir]

Hi Rapsar. I created Serhat's article on Persian Wikipedia. You can check it here. Keivan.f (mesaj) 09:54, 17 Ocak 2016 (UTC)

That looks great! Thank you very much :)--RapsarEfendim? 10:06, 17 Ocak 2016 (UTC)

Bölümleri listesi[kaynağı değiştir]

Hi Rapsar. Would you please take a look at Muhteşem Yüzyıl bölümleri listesi. I think the rating for each episode is included on the charts but none of them appear on the article. Can you fix it? Keivan.f (mesaj) 03:26, 27 Ekim 2016 (UTC)

Hi. I made these minor changes and it should be OK now. Can you apply the same edits for each episode?--RapsarEfendim? 08:45, 27 Ekim 2016 (UTC)

Kategori[kaynağı değiştir]

Merhaba, henüz olmayan kategoriler de eklenebilir, maddelerde geçen fakat açılmamış kategorilerin listesi de tutuluyor. Bunu henüz olmayan bir maddeye bağlantı vermeye benzetebiliriz. Ben kategori açmayı sevmediğimden öyle bıraktım, ilgili birisi veya siz açabilirsiniz. Kolaylıklar.--Kingbjelica (mesaj) 16.42, 23 Temmuz 2019 (UTC)

Image to Commons[kaynağı değiştir]

Hı Keifan.f! Could you please transfer this file to Commons? I'm not very familiar with the process and could use some help. Thanks! --Khutuckmsj 02.28, 18 Ekim 2019 (UTC)

Hi Khutuck! Sorry for my delayed response; I was really busy with my exams. I'm not an expert in that area either, but I know that it needs to be uploaded to the Commons separately and tagged with a few templates. I'll try to find one of the media uploaders on the English Wiki who might be able to help with this. Keivan.f (mesaj) 04.37, 22 Ekim 2019 (UTC)
That's great, thanks! I also owe you an earthquake article, but I was busy with Ottoman battleships :) --Khutuckmsj 04.48, 22 Ekim 2019 (UTC)
