İngiltere'nin şehirlerinden birisidir.Dünyaca ünlü Manchester United futbol takımına ve Old Trafford Stadyumu'na ev sahipliği yapar.Kuzey İngiltere'nin sanayi, eğitim ve kültür merkezidir.Manchester'ı denize bağlayan kanal 1894 yılında açılmıştır.
