Yunan mitolojisinde, Tithonos (/tɪˈθoʊnəs/ veya /taɪ-/; Eski Yunanca: Τιθωνός) Şafak Tanrıçası Eos'un sevgilisidir. [i] Naiad Strymo ve (Στρυμώ) Kral Laomedon'un oğlu olan Truva prensidir. [ii]
Bir asteroide (6998) Tithonos'un adı verilmiştir.

Tithonos, alegorist tarafından, Eos'un ricasıyla hayatının uzatılmasına atıfta bulunan ("teinō" ve "ōnė" dan) "uzatma izni" anlamına gelir; ancak daha ziyade Eos'un kendi adı olan Titonë'nin erkeksi bir biçimi olması muhtemeldir - titō, 'day[2] ve onë, 'kraliçe' – ve 'Günün Kraliçesi'nin ortağı' anlamına geliyordu.[3]

As one of the major offspring of the Titans, she is sometimes referred to as one of the Titanides (a Titaness; the English plural "Titanesses" is rarely used), but like the Olympians, is usually described by the more general term "goddess".
