Hazel Branch

Hazel Elizabeth Branch (1886–1973) Amerikalı bir böcek bilimcidir. American Society of Zoologists ve Academy for the Advancement of Science üyesi olan Branch, aynı zamanda Kansas Bilim Akademisi'nin de başkanıydı.[1]

Branch, 1 Ekim 1886'da Concordia, Kansas'ta doğdu.[2]

1908'de lisans derecesi ve 1912'de İngilizce yüksek lisans derecesi aldığı Kansas Üniversitesi'nde sırasıyla lisans (1908), yüksek lisans (1912) ve doktora derecelerini aldı. 1921'de Cornell Üniversitesi'nden Entomoloji doktorasını yaptı.[3] 1922'de Biyoloji Bölümü profesörü ve Bölüm Başkanı olarak Fairmount Koleji'nde (Wichita Eyalet Üniversitesi) çalışmaya başladı, daha sonra aynı kolejde Zooloji Bölüm Başkanı oldu.[3]

Branch, 24 Ağustos 1973'te Wichita'da öldü.[2] 1975'te Wichita Eyalet Üniversitesi'nde Hazel Branch Burs Komisyonu kuruldu ve tıp fakültesine gitmek isteyen biyoloji öğrencilerine burs verilmeye başlandı.[3]
