En İyi Animasyon Programı Emmy Ödülleri veya tam adıyla En İyi Animasyon Programı Primetime Emmy Ödülleri, bir Emmy Ödülü dalı olup her yıl animasyon dizilerinde en iyi olduğuna karar verilen dizilere verilir. Bir saat veya daha uzun programlar ve bir saatten daha kısa programlar için olmak üzere yayın sürelerine göre iki ayrı kategoride ödüller verilmektedir.

Simpsonlar dizisi, bu ödüle 17 kez aday olup 10 kez kazanarak bu ödülü en fazla kazanan dizidir. Bunu toplamda 4 kez bu ödülü kazanan (12 adaylıkta) çeşitli Garfield özel bölümleri akip etmektedir. The Simpsons veya diğer dizilerin bölümlerinin En İyi Komedi Dizisi Emmy Ödülleri kategorisinde de ödüllere katılmasını önersede, kurallara göre bir program birden fazla kategoride ödüllere katılamamaktadır.[1]

"En İyi Anismasyon Programı" için iki kategori bulunmaktadır. Bunlar yayın sürelerine göre, bir saat veya daha uzun programlar ve bir saatten daha kısa programlar olmak üzere ikiye ayrılır. Her bir dizinin bir bölüm veya bir özel bölümle katılabilir. Adaylıklarda, bölümün yanına maksimum 4 yönetmen, maksimum 3 yazar ve maksimum 14 yapımcı olmak üzere, toplamda en fazla 21 kişinin ismi yazılabilir.[2]

Bir çok Primetime Emmy Ödülü kategorisi için kurallar özellikle animasyon programlarının aday olamayacağını belirtilmesine rağmen; bazı kreatif sanatlar kategorilerinde animasyon programlarının başvurmasına izin verilmektedir.[2] Bununla beraber, bazen Primetime kategorilerine başvuran programlar da olmaktadır. Örneğin, The Simpsons "A Streetcar Named Marge" ve "Mr. Plow" bölümleri ile 1993'te En İyi Komedi Dizisi Emmy Ödülleri'ne başvurdu. Ancak bu bölümler aday gösterilmedi.[3]
