• Bu arada metropolitan alani kismini baglantiliktan cikardim. Henuz Turkce'de boyle bir duzenleme olmadigi icin, baglanti olacak sekilde girilmesi gerekmedigini dusunuyorum. Ben genelde benzer durumlar icin (greater, ya da metropolitan vs.) daha dolayli anlatimlari kullanmaya calisiyorum. Ne dersiniz? Bir fikri olan var mi, ya da tavsiyesi? Congratulations on your Lisbon article.

Please forgive me for intruding and writing in English. I thought I could make a couple of suggestions to further improve the article.

The first picture shows a view of the “Parque das Nações” (Nations Park) – site of Expo’98 - taken from the “Passeio de Neptuno” (Neptune’s Walk) across the “Doca dos Olivais” (Olivais’ Port or Dock). From right to left you can see the Expo’98 Portugal Pavilion (with arcade), a private condominium (tower), and the dome of the Atlantic Pavilion. The amateur photo is of very poor quality and doesn’t do justice to the town and location.

Next you have the Peter IV of Portugal Plaza, almost only known as "Rossio". The picture shows the NE corner of the plaza (left in the background) and in the right foreground one of the sculptures of the two monumental fountains, this one located on the south side of the “Rossio.” Beautiful night picture.

The statue of Afonso Henriques of Portugal is located at the “São Jorge” (St. George) Castle in Lisbon. It’s the picture of a worrier king. There are more beautiful and interesting pictures of Lisbon’s history. One example: Carmo Convent Ruins is also shown in the galery.

If this source is correct, the 18th century picture is actually of 1503, showing Manuel I of Portugal, his court and government moving from the São Jorge Castle to the “Paço da Ribeira” (Ribeira Palace). After the 1755 earthquake all was reduced to ruble.

There is a misspelling in “Oceanário.”

The picture of the “Assembleia da República” (National Assembly or Parliement) is related to Government, not Education.

Pictures of the Rector’s office (front) and Aula Magna (rear of the same building) of the University of Lisbon, and the Rector’s office of the New University of Lisbon (Forget the next picture. It’s not a building of that University, but of ISCTE as stated in the description).

In the background of the following picture, one can see the previous building of the School of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and now the School of Medical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon (the School of Medicine of the University of Lisbon has a NEWER building!)

These pictures might not be in Commons, but you can use them as a guide.

I am sorry if the article about Lisbon on the portuguese Wikipedia gave you the wrong information, but “en:Freguesias” (a subdivision of the municipality, both considered local government) don’t have anything to do with “Bairro” (the whole name is “pt:Bairro fiscal”), a territorial division under the Ministry of Finance, for tax purposes. You should be aware, however, of the existence of “en:Bairros”. In Lisbon, some old “Bairros” coincide with the “Freguesias” of the same name, as you can see on this article about the “pt:Marchas populares” (popular marches).

Of course you can always make longer your list of famous people, born in Lisbon. As worthy improvements to the list, let me suggest: en:John I of Portugal, en:Alexandre Herculano, and en:António Guterres.

A final note: the last picture on the gallery (port of Lisbon) is shown twice.
