Population Matters[kaynağı değiştir]

Hi,

I hope you speak English, I just saw you were active on a few interesting pages. The following is something that I am asking on a few pages:

I'm hoping to get some advice on names to use in reference to an article that I would like to develop in (Turkish and some other languages). The English version of the article is w:en:Population Matters. Other versions include: w:ar:المسائل_السكانية and w:ru:Движение за оптимальную численность населения

I have a couple of problems with names.

There are advantages in translating the name - studies have shown that a major factor behind increase in population is a low standard of education and am supposing that less well educated people, from any language base, may be less likely to open articles with titles that aren't in their first language.

The first problem is that this English title has multiple meanings but I still hope to present something meaningful. The second problem is that the previous name of the organisation used a term that has charitable meanings in English which may be lost in translation.

I was hoping to say something along the lines of:
"Population is Important" (İngilizcePopulation Matters; "which also translates as: Population Topics"), "and which was formerly known as the Optimum Population Trust" (İngilizcethe Optimum Population Trust, OPT)...

In English, and I hope this is not just stating the obvious, people can talk of an important thing by stating that "it matters" (google) and they can also refer to various topics as "subject matters" (google). I guess that the main translated title of of the organisation could refer to either definition of "matters".

In the UK people are familiar with the idea of the w:en:Charitable trust. A similar concept of the legal framework is used in many countries w:en:Trust law but I was unsure whether the meanings of translations of "Trust" would carry anything approaching the charitable meaning of the English "trust". I your views on whether this word should be translated or not would be appreciated.

I don't actually represent the organization but share similar interests. Your advice on names would be really appreciated as, in the first case, this is what would come up in listings.

Redirect pages can be set up from a "Population Matters" page in any language to the actual title of the article. thanks Gregkaye (mesaj) 15:24, 13 Temmuz 2014 (UTC) w:en:User_talk:Gregkaye

I was thinking of something like:

Nüfus, Önemli Olan veya Nüfus Konular (İngilizce: Population Matters) Eskiden bilindiği gibi: Nüfus Konular, Optimum Nüfus Yardım Örgütü (İngilizce: Optimum Population Trust).

I'm just not sure if other wording would work: / nüfus önemli olduğunu Nüfus: Önemli / nüfus edilir:, önemli / nüfus öneme sahiptir vardır / nüfusun önemi olduğunu Nüfus Matters / nüfus konular, Nüfus ciddiyet / nüfus ciddiyet, Nüfus Madde / nüfus madde,

Hangi de tercüme edilebilir: Nüfus Sorunlar / nüfus sorunları, Nüfus Konular / nüfus konular, Nüfus Konular / nüfus konular,

Eskiden bilindiği gibi: Optimum Population Trust (optimum nüfus Optimum Nüfus / optimum nüfus güven / güven / Güven / "optimum nüfus" güven / "optimum nüfus" "Güven" / optimum nüfus güven ulusal şirket optimum nüfus Optimum nüfus Güven Optimum nüfus "Güven" Gregkaye (mesaj) 10:07, 14 Temmuz 2014 (UTC)

Hi. These kind of "translations" are not allowed in Turkish Wikipedia. If you create an article with that kind of translation (I mean translations with Google Translate or similar websites) it will be deleted immediately. You can simply add any article that you want to be in Turkish Wikipedia to here. For organizations, you can use this page. I'm not interested in this topic, but I'm sure that there will be someone who is. Have a nice day.--RapsarEfendim? 17:32, 14 Temmuz 2014 (UTC)
