Edit war

A member of this project approached me as a steward to get help. They believed you have violated 3RR and are/were in an edit war. Please don't do this. Admins should set a good example. Because this incident is not urgent, I feel it'd be wrong for me to act. However, stewards can act in urgent (ie: damaging) cases when there are not active admins online. Dear Fr33kman, I appreciate your not rushing to act on this complaint without finding out more about the facts.

A Checkuser request was recently made at the Meta regarding a sockpuppetry investigation in the Turkish Wikipedia [1]. The reply was that there was no need to for a Steward to intervene because the Turkish Wikipedia has local Checkusers.

With all due respect to you, I hope you will take the same perspective regarding this 3R case and allow for the Turkish Wikipedia to take care of its own problems. This matter has not reached the urgency that will require your intervention and can be resolved through our local mechanisms.

Let me give you the big picture. The case is not as simple as it may have been presented to you. Following my sockpuppetry case in which I was exonerated, I made a final statement. A sentence in it was claimed to be a personal attack by two users who were among those accusing me of sockpuppetry. I do not believe that it was a personal attack and I believe this is part of a harassment campaign that started with the sock puppetry case mentioned above. I did not allow myself to be censured by trolls. Several admins and bureaucrats also have expressed the opinion that that sentence was not a personal attack. Now the same users have started a new complaint about me, claiming that my adminship should be revoked due to my shortcomings.

The tr-wiki community is evaluating these claims and will surely decide on the proper course to take. --ki ^bl 04:42, 22 Ağustos 2011 (UTC)

• There is very, very little that is truely urgent on WMF wikis; many people don't realize that. Spambots, open proxy floods, massive crosswiki sockpuppetry and vandalism are times of urgency. Admins deleting loads of pages quickly or otherwise going badly and quickly rogue etcetera are examples of times stewards would intervene to stop it and fix it. Things can always be repaired which is why I'm slow to act where there of locals who can and should. In no way was this case of an urgent nature.
