The Farmer in the Dell
The Farmer in the Dell, ABD'de halk arasında söylenen bir çocuk türküsüdür. Zincirleme gelişen dörtlüklerden oluşur. Her bir dörtlükte tekrarlar vardır. Dörtlük hangi sözcükle -ya da kişiyle- bitiyorsa bir sonraki dörtlük onun ne yaptığını anlatır. Örneğin ikinci dörtlük çiftçinin karısıyla biterkeni üçüncü dörtlük çiftçinin karısının çocuğu olduğundan bahseder. Yine çocuğun hemşiresinden, hemşirenin ineğinden, ineğin köpeğinden, köpeğin kedi yakalamasından, kedinin fare yakalamasından, farenin peynirinden, peynirinse hiçbir şey yapamayaıp yalnız başına kalmasından bahseder ve peynir bir şey yapamadığı için şarkı biter. Bir dönem oldukça popüler olan bu çocuk türküsü, artık yerini bilgisayar ve DVD'lere bırakmıştır.. Sözleri tam olarak şöyledir :
