Orhan Gafarli is a senior research fellow at the Ankara Policy Center and candidate of PhD at International Relations in Ankara University. His area of expertise includes, Caucasus and Central Asian Studies, Turkey domestic and foreign policy, Russian-Turkish relation and energy security. Having a BA in international trade from the Baku Economic University and an MA in International Caucasus School from the University of İlia, Gafarli also worked as researcher Eurasian Region for two years at the Ankara Office of the Wise Men Center for Strategic Studies (BİLGESAM). Over time he has participated as an invited speaker at a number of international conferences on Eurasian security issues in Europe and Asia. He is contributes to Foreign Policy Center in Russia (headquartered in Moscow), The Jamestown Foundation (Washington DC) and National Interest in US. Mr. Gafarli has published several scholarly publications focusing on her area of expertise. He is author of the book entitled Avrasya Çıkmazı (Eurasian Quandary)
