NUCLEAR WEAPON

The nuclear weapon is a weapon with high destructive power obtained by the combination of nuclear reaction and nuclear fission or by a much stronger fusion. Unlike general explosives, it is used to cause much more damage. Only a weapon that is used is capable of destroying an entire city or a country completely.

The discovery of the nuclear weapon was carried out by Julius Robert Oppenheimer in 1945. The nuclear weapon, which was first produced in the weapons production center established in Los Amalos, New Mexico, is the greatest invention of Oppenheimer and his army of 5700 people.

In the history of war, the nuclear weapon was used by the United States to be II. It was used twice in the last days of World War II. The first incident occurred on the morning of August 6, 1945, when a uranium-type weapon, code named Little Boy, was dropped in Hiroshima, Japan.Three days later, the plutonium type weapon code named Fat Man was fired in Nagasaki city of the same country. As a result of these weapons, 132,000 people, mostly civilians, died. After these events, discussions on the use of nuclear weapons gained momentum.

There are two basic types of nuclear weapons. The first is the fission bombs that generate energy by splitting the ultra-uranium heavy atomic nuclei, like the uranium bomb dropped on Hiroshima or the plutonium bomb on Nagasaki. These weapons can shatter heavy elements and in this way high energy is released.
