Konusu

Film, Empire Records adlı bir plak dükkanında çalışan bir grup gencin Rex Manning adlı pop starın dükkana geldiği gündeki yaşadıklarını ve Empire Records'u zincir bir plak şirketine satılmaktan kurtarışlarını anlatıyor. Bu bir günde bu gençler birbirlerini daha iyi tanıyorlar ve hiçbirinin göründükleri gibi olmadıklarının farkına varıyorlar.
