Austin Osman Spare

Austin Osman Spare (30 Aralık 1886 - 15 Mayıs 1956), hem teknik ressam hem de ressam olarak çalışan İngiliz bir sanatçı ve okültistti.^[1] Sembolizm ve art nouveau'dan etkilenen sanatı, net çizgi kullanımıyla^[2] ve canavarca ve cinsel imgelerin tasviriyle biliniyordu.^[3] Okült bir kapasitede, bilinçli ve bilinçsiz benlik arasındaki ilişkiye dair teorilerine dayanarak otomatik yazma, otomatik çizim ve mühürleme gibi büyülü teknikler geliştirdi.

Sanat eğitimi: 1900–1905[değiştir | kaynağı değiştir]

Uygulamalı bir okültist olduktan sonra, Blavatsky'nin Dünya'nın zaten Cehennem olduğu fikrini kendi öncülü olarak aldığı ilk büyü kitabı Earth Inferno'yu (1905) yazdı ve resimledi. Eserde Teozofi, İncil, Ömer Hayyam, Dante'nin Cehennemi ve Zos ve Kia ile ilgili kendi mistik fikirleri de dahil olmak üzere çeşitli etkiler sergilendi.
