Amerikan '''Oliver Hazard Perry sınıfı''' güdümlü mermi firkateyni'dir . [[Türk Donanması]]'nda adı Gaziantep sınıfı dır.


Adını Komodor Oliver Hazard Perry’den alan Perry sınıfı firkateyn havaya güdümlü silah sistemi kullanır. FFG-12 adını İkinci Dünya Savaşı’nda ölen komutan George Philip’ten aldı. FFG-12 1980 yılında denize indirildi, 2003 yılında hizmetten alındı. FFG-14 ise adını Amiral John H. Sides’tan aldı. 1981 yılında hizmete giren FFG 14 İran-Irak savaşı sırasında İran Hava Yollarına ait IR-655 sefer sayılı yolcu uçağının vurulması 60’ı çocuk 290 yolcunun ölmesi olayına dolaylı olarak karıştı. Sides, bu sırada İran karasularındaydı. ABD hükümeti İran’a 61,8 milyon dolar tazminat ödedi.

USS Reid (Gelibolu)

Amerikan Oliver Hazard Perry sınıfı güdümlü mermi firkateyni'dir . Türk Donanması'nda adı Gaziantep sınıfı dır.


Adını Komodor Oliver Hazard Perry’den alan Perry sınıfı firkateyn havaya güdümlü silah sistemi kullanır. FFG-12 adını İkinci Dünya Savaşı’nda ölen komutan George Philip’ten aldı. FFG-12 1980 yılında denize indirildi, 2003 yılında hizmetten alındı. FFG-14 ise adını Amiral John H. Sides’tan aldı. 1981 yılında hizmete giren FFG 14 İran-Irak savaşı sırasında İran Hava Yollarına ait IR-655 sefer sayılı yolcu uçağının vurulması 60’ı çocuk 290 yolcunun ölmesi olayına dolaylı olarak karıştı. Sides, bu sırada İran karasularındaydı. ABD hükümeti İran’a 61,8 milyon dolar tazminat ödedi.
