Jeolojide depresyon çevresine göre çökmüş bir yeryüzü şeklini tanımlamak için kullanılır. Depresyonun oluşmasında çok değişik mekanizmalar rol alabilir ve depresyon çok değişik terimlerle açıklanabilir.
