Zazana[1] (Eski Farsça: Zāzāna, Babilce: Zazannu)[2][3] veya Susa yazıtlarına göre Zazzan[3] I. Darius'ın Behistun Yazıtında ismi geçen Babil yakınlarındaki bir şehir veya bölgenin adı.[1]

Ahameniş kralı I. Darius'un Yeni Babil fethinden sonra bölgede isyanlar çıktı. Ainaira'nın oğlu Nidinta-Bel adında biri, Yeni Babil'in son kralı Nabonidus'un oğlu olduğunu iddia ederek Babil Kralı III. Nebukadnezar olarak isyana başlamıştı. 13 Aralık MÖ 522 tarihinde Dicle kenarında meydana gelen bir muharebede I. Darius, III. Nebukadnezar'ı yendi, beş gün sonra Fırat kenarında Zazana yakınında tekrar yendi. III. Nebkadnezar Babil'e doğru kaçtıysa da orada tutuklanıp idam edildi.[1][2]

Zazana, Fırat nehri üzerinde Babil yakınlarında bir şehirdir.[3] Behistun yazıtlarına göre, I. Darius İran'ın güneyindeki bugünkü Huzistan eyaletinde Basra körfezine yakın bir yerde bulunan Susa şehrinden Babil'e doğru giderken Zazana şehrinden bahsedilir.[4][5]

Ahuramazda brought me help; by the grace of Ahuramazda did I utterly overthrow the host of Nidintu-Bêl. The enemy fled into the water; the water carried them away. On the second day of the month Anâmaka [18 December 522] we joined battle."
