Pierre Briant (d. 30 Eylül 1940, Angers) Fransız bir İranolog, Collège de France'da Ahameniş Dünyası ve Büyük İskender İmparatorluğu Tarihi ve Medeniyeti Profesörü (1999'dan beri), Chicago Üniversitesi'nde Fahri Doktora unvanına sahip ve achemenet.com web sitesinin kurucusudur.[1]
Poitiers Üniversitesi'nde Tarih okumuş (1960-1965) ve 1972'de doktora derecesini almıştır.
Eserlerinde ağırlıklı olarak Ahameniş İmparatorluğu ve Büyük İskender veya Helenistik Dönem gibi konuları ele alır.
Matthew Stolper'ın sözleriyle Briant, "bir zamanlar birbirinden izole olmuş bir nesil bilim insanının, büyük önem taşıyan ortak bir entelektüel projenin üyeleri olduğunu göstermiştir."[2]
