Kurtarma arkeolojisi, ya da diğer bilinen adlarıyla kurtarma kazıları, prevantif (önleyici) arkeoloji ya da ticari yahut sözleşmeli arkeoloji, devlet tarafından onaylanmış, kar amacı güden arkeolojik kazı ve araştırmalara verilen addır. Bu tür kazılar bir inşaat, yol ya da baraj inşası planlanırken arazi çalışmaları sırasında tesadüfen bulunan buluntuların en kısa sürede belgelenerek kayda alınmasını amaçlamaktadır.
