Amy Shell-Gellasch matematikçi, matematik tarihçisi yazar ve editördür. 2013'ten 2018'e kadar Smithsonian Ulusal Amerikan Tarihi Müzesi'nde araştırma yaptı ve burada Smithsonian'ın çevrimiçi koleksiyonları için matematiksel araç koleksiyonları hazırladı. Araştırmaları matematik tarihi ve öğretimdeki kullanımları üzerinedir.
Hayatı ve Çalışmaları[değiştir | kaynağı değiştir]
Michigan Üniversitesi'nden matematik ve fizik dalında lisans derecesi, Oakland Üniversitesi'nden yüksek lisans derecesi aldı. Shell-Gellasch, Mina Rees üzerine daha sonra kitap haline getirdiği teziyle 2000'de Chicago Illinois Üniversitesi'nden doktora (DA) derecesi aldı.[2] Maryland'deki Montgomery College'da matematik doçentidir.[3] Ayrıca Kanada Matematik Tarihi ve Felsefesi Derneği'nin arşivcisi olarak görev yaptı.[4]
