İngilizler (İngilizce: English people), İngiltere'yi yurt edinmiş Cermen kökenli, İngilizce konuşan bir ulustur. Çoğunluğu Birleşik Krallık'ta yaşamakta olup, dilleri İngilizcedir. Tarih boyunca İngiltere'de ikamet etmiş olan farklı grupların karışımıyla yeni bir kimlik oluşturmuşlardır; Anglo-Saksonlar, Vikingler, Bretonlar ve Normanlar İngiliz kimliğini oluşturan etnik gruplardır.

Britanya'da tarihsel süreç içerisinde yurt edinen ilk halk Kelt kökenli Britonlar kabul edilmektedir. Daha sonra Kuzey Almanya'dan gelen Cermen kökenli Saksonlar, Angluslar ve Jütler adaya ayak bastı. Bu üç toplum birbirleri ile karışarak Anglo-Saksonları oluşturdu ve Britanyadaki baskın toplum oldular. Bretonlar adanın kuzey (İskoçya) ve batısına (Galler) çekildi. 11. yüzyılda adayı son olarak istila eden Viking kökenli Normanlar oldu. İskoçya'daki Bretonlar ile İngiltere'deki Anglo-Normanlar arasındaki uzun savaşlar, İngiltere'nin üstünlüğü ile sonuçlandı. Böylece Britanya'da, İngiliz adı altında tek bir ulusun oluşu süreci hız kazandı. Büyük Britanya Krallığı döneminde de sömürgecilik politikası ile dünyanın birçok yanına dağıldılar.

^ The CIA World Factbook reports that in the 2001 UK census 92.1% of the UK population were in the White ethnic group, and that 83.6% of this group are in the English ethnic group. The UK Office for National Statistics reports a total population in the UK census of 58,789,194. A quick calculation shows this is equivalent to 45,265,093 people in the English ethnic group. However, this number may not represent a self-defined ethnic group because the 2001 census did not in fact offer "English" as an option under the 'ethnicity' question (the CIA's figure was presumably arrived at by calculating the number of people in England who listed themselves as "white").
