Tijs Verwest (tiɛsto d.17 Ocak 1969,^[2]Breda, Hollanda) dünyaca ünlü trance DJ`i. Geçmişte birçok takma isim kullanırdı, bunlardan en çok bilineni DJ Tiesto`dur.^[3] Son eserlerinde "DJ" etiketini de kaldırmasıyla kısaca Tiësto olarak bilinmeye başladı.^[4] En çok Delerium parçası Silence remiksi ve Barber`ın Adagio for Strings yorumuyla bilinir.

Tijs Van Wervest 17 Ocak 1969'da Breda Hollanda'da doğdu.1980'lerin başında okul ve ev partileriyle profesyonel DJ'liğe başladı. 1985 ve 1993 yılları arasında Hollanda'daki gece kulüplerinde residence DJ olarak çalıştı.^[5]^[6] The Spock adlı kulüp, Tiësto için birçok şeyin şekillendiği yer oldu. Hardcore/Gabber tarzda parçalardan vazgeçerek, bu kulüpte haftasonları saat 22:00'den 04:00'e kadar kendi sound'unu biçimlendirmeye başladı.^[7] 1990'ların ortalarında trance müzik üretmeye etmeye başladı ve halen devam etmekte.

Tiësto bu son rumuzunu alana kadar birçok takma nick kullandı.

Tiësto'nun "IN CONCERT" şovu dünyanın önde gelen yaratıcı teknoloji dehası ID&T grubu işbirliği ile hazırlanmış muhteşem bir ses, ışık ve multimedya gösterisidir. Tiësto bu konserlerinde 4,5-5 saat sahnede kalır ve hit parçalarının solistleri canlı performansları ile kendisine sahnede eşlik eder. Zaman zaman bulunulan ülkeye ve konserin temasına göre sürpriz konuk şov grupları ve misafir sanatçılara da programda yer verilir.

Tiësto 2007 yılının mart ayında piyasaya verdiği "Elements of Life" albümünün adını taşıyan bir dünya turnesi ile ilk kez bu dev prodüksiyonu İstanbul dahil olmak üzere önde gelen metropollere taşıyor. "IN CONCERT"in 2007 versiyonunda en büyük yeniliklerden biri ise dünyada ilk kez üretilen dev bir LED ekran. Amsterdam Schipol Havalimanı sponsorluğunda yapılan bu ekran 30m x 18m boyutuna kadar büyütülebiliyor.
