Six Feet Under, 1993 yılında Tampa, Florida'da kurulan death metal grubudur.
Grup ilk olarak, Cannibal Corpse vokalisti "Chris Barnes" ve Obituary gitaristi "Allen West" tarafından yan proje olarak hayata geçirildi. Chris Barnes'ın Cannibal Corpse grubundan kişisel sebeplerden ötürü ayrılması ile başlayan süreçte, Chris Barnes; "Six Feet Under" projesine daha çok ağırlık vermeye başladı. Allen West'in Obituary grubundan ayrılması ile birlikte, "Six Feet Under" yan proje olmaktan tamamen çıktı ve müzik hayatına tam olarak başladı.
Six Feet Under, Death grubundan bas gitara "Terry Butler"ı ve bateriye "Gren Gall"ı alarak albüm çalışmalarına koyuldu.
