Douglass Cecil North (d. 5 Kasım 1920) ABD'li ekonomist. 1993 yılında, Robert Fogel ile birlikte, Nobel Ekonomi Ödülü'nü kazanmıştır. İsveç Kraliyet Bilimler Akademisi, Nobel Ekonomi Ödülü'nü North ve Fogel'e verme nedeni olarak şöyle demiştir: Ekonomik ve kurumsal değişmeleri açıklamak için ekonomik teori ve kantitatif yöntemler uygulayarak ekonomi tarihi konusundaki araştırmaları yeniledikleri için.
