İdris Şah

İdris Şah (16 Temmuz, 1924 – 23 Kasım, 1996) (Farsça: ادریس شاه), diğer adıyla Seyid İdris el-Haşimi (Arabic: سيد إدريس هاشمي), psikoloji, ruhsallık, gezi kitapları ve kültür alanında eserler veren Amerikalı yazar.

Afgan (Peştun) kökenli bir ailenin oğlu olarak Hindistan'da doğdu, İngiltere'de büyüdü. İlk yazıları büyü ve cadılık ile ilgiliydi. 1960'da yayınevi Octagon Press'i kurdu ve tasavvuf klasiklerini İngilizce'ye çevirdi. 1965'de Londra merkezli Institute for Cultural Research'i kurdu; Institute for the Study of Human Knowledge adıyla benzeri bir organizasyonu da A.B.D'de kurdu. Amerika'daki enstitünün yöneticiliğine Standford Üniversitesi psikoloji profesörü Robert Ornstein'i getirdi.
